How to set up VOGSY boards for different countries, currencies and stakeholders

VOGSY Boards are customizable dashboards that allow you to gather, group, and share relevant information with specific people in your organization. They are an excellent way to distribute insightful charts and key links to different teams, countries, and management levels.

This article explains how to create and manage Boards tailored to your various stakeholders.


The Power of Filtered Content

The key to creating relevant Boards is filtering. Any standard chart in VOGSY can be filtered by country, company, department, customer, or project. You can then pin that specific, filtered view to a Board.

This allows you to create highly specific dashboards, such as:

  • A "UK Performance" Board for the UK Country Manager, showing charts filtered to only show UK data in GBP.

  • A "Project Alpha" Board for a specific project team, showing the project's burn rate chart, key contacts, and relevant documents.

  • A consolidated "Executive Overview" Board for top management with charts showing global performance in the base currency.


How to Create and Manage a Board

Follow these steps to create, populate, and share your own custom Boards.


1. Create a New Board

  • Click "Boards" in the main side menu, then click "+ New board".

  • Give the board a Title (required) and a description (optional).

  • VOGSY will assign a random background image, which you can change at any time.

2. Pin Content to Your Board
You can pin VOGSY charts, custom external charts, and links to other VOGSY items.

  • To pin a VOGSY Chart: Go to the "Charts" section, apply any filters you need, click the pin icon on the chart, and select your desired board.

  • To pin a Custom Chart (from Google Sheets, Connected Sheets, Power BI, Looker Studio, etc.): Open your board, click "Add Custom Chart," and paste the chart's shareable URL into the form.

  • To pin other items (like Projects or Contacts): Navigate to the item you want to pin and look for the pin icon to add it to your board.

3. Share Your Board

  • Open the board you wish to share.

  • Click the "Share" icon (a person with a plus sign).

  • Select a coworker from the dropdown list and click "Add". They will receive a notification.


Editing and Managing Your Boards

You can only edit boards that you have created yourself.

  • To edit a board's details: Open the board, click the pencil icon, make your changes to the title, description, or background, and click "Save".

  • To unpin an item: Open the board, find the chart or item, and click its "unpin" icon.

  • To unshare a board: Open the board, click the "Share" icon, find the coworker's name, and click the delete/remove icon next to it.

  • To delete a board: Open the board, first unpin all items, then click the three-dot menu icon, and select "Delete board".
