How to manage (international) holiday calendars

You can create multiple plans for public holidays or company days off. These are applied automatically in the planning for all your employees, corresponding to which company, department, or country they work from.

Days off from your holiday calendar automatically show as non-working days in the resource planning views. You can override this if required and plan work on those days.

VOGSY automatically takes holiday calendars into account for you by:

  • calculating and presenting the availability of the employee

  • calculating future revenue

  • suggesting resources to be allocated to activities

  • determining resource utilization and target attainment


How to set up the holiday calendars

You can set up your holiday calendars in the Setup section of your VOGSY back office under ‘Holidays.’ You’ll notice that for each holiday plan, you can decide which companies, countries, or departments each calendar needs to be applied to.


How to apply a holiday calendar to an employee record

Each employee in VOGSY’s back office has a mandatory selection field for their ‘Holiday calendar.’ You can select the calendar for the employee’s department or a different one. That’s all you need to do. VOGSY now applies this to the planning automatically.
