How to use the Trial Balance report
For businesses utilizing VOGSY for their project accounting, understanding and leveraging its financial reporting tools is crucial. Among these, the Trial Balance report is a fundamental instrument for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of your financial data. This report provides a snapshot of all your ledger accounts and their corresponding debit and credit balances for each organization within your VOGSY environment.
When starting or refreshing the report, VOGSY asks up to which year and period you want to see the trial balance.
Column descriptions
Ledger account number
The unique identifier for each ledger account.
Ledger account name
The descriptive name for each ledger account.
The start balance in VOGSY's Trial Balance report refers to the opening balance at the beginning of the year you are reviewing. This figure represents the cumulative balance of each ledger account carried over from the previous year.
Start balance debit
The debit amounts for the opening balance.
Start balance credit
The credit amounts for the opening balance.
Debit till period
The debit amounts recorded for the account from the beginning of the year up to the selected month.
Credit till period
The credit amounts recorded for the account from the beginning of the year up to the selected month.
End balance debit
The debit closing balance of each ledger account at the end of the selected reporting period is calculated by taking the start balance and adding all debit entries for the selected periods.
End balance credit
The credit closing balance of each ledger account at the end of the selected reporting period. This is calculated by taking the start balance and adding all debit entries for the selected periods.
