Roles and Permissions

Predefined Roles

VOGSY has six predefined roles: Professional, Contractor, Account Manager, Project Manager, Manager, and Support staff.

Each role has different permissions for Creating, Reading, Updating, or Deleting (CRUD) projects and opportunities.

An employee can have more than one role. The permissions are a combination of two or more roles.

You can view tables with permissions per role below.

Team membership

When an employee is a team member for an organization, opportunity, or project, this influences the permissions.

A team member can always edit an organization, opportunity, or project.

User types

Permissions in VOGSY are also influenced by the user type of the employee

  • No user; this type has no access to VOGSY and, therefore, no permissions.

  • Lite users have limited access to VOGSY features and appropriate menu options for contractors or employees. They can track time, adjust their planning, submit their expenses, and view and modify their tasks. However, they can not create, view, search, or change projects, opportunities, or organizations.

  • Full users can access nearly all VOGSY features, menu options, and resources, except for the back office.

  • Super users have access to all VOGSY features, menu options, and resources, including access to the back office. This user type is appropriate for anyone who needs access to the VOGSY back office.
