Staying informed and on track: how notifications function in VOGSY
VOGSY utilizes a comprehensive notification system to keep users informed about important events, required actions, and updates within the platform. These notifications serve as a central hub for staying aware of project progress, team activities, and individual responsibilities. Â
At its core, VOGSY's notification system is designed to alert users to significant occurrences such as a new team member joining, a project milestone being reached, or when specific actions are required, like submitting or approving timesheets.
How notifications keep you up to date
VOGSY notifications are designed to deliver timely and relevant information directly to you, eliminating the need to constantly search for updates. They provide crucial alerts across all major areas of your business:
On Customers & Opportunities: Get notified when a new opportunity is assigned to you, when a client views a quote you've sent, or when important customer information is updated. These alerts help you engage with prospects and customers at the perfect moment.
On Projects: Stay on top of project progress with notifications for new task assignments, approaching deadlines, budget milestones, and status changes. This ensures the entire project team is aligned and aware of their responsibilities.
On Colleagues & Internal Tasks: Receive alerts for internal processes, such as a timesheet or expense report that requires your approval, or a vacation request from a member of your team.
The Action Hub: where notifications drive workflow
A core feature of VOGSY's power is that notifications are often more than just information—they are prompts for action. This is a crucial part of VOGSY's workflow automation, designed to keep business processes moving forward smoothly.
When a notification requires your input, it will include a dedicated action section with clear buttons to progress the task.
This seamless integration of information and action is what makes the notification system so powerful. It transforms a simple alert into a command center, allowing you to approve quotes, complete tasks, and advance projects with a single click, directly from the notification itself.
Notification Settings
In VOGSY, notification settings allow users to control how they receive alerts about various actions and events within the platform.
You reach the notification settings by expanding the menu on the left side.
When in the settings screen, there are three options for each notification item:
Turn feed notifications on or off. Some feed notifications are grayed out and cannot be set. VOGSY believes these notifications are important because they increase the efficiency of your business processes. To view these notifications only, go to the Actions feed.
You can turn push notifications on or off. Note that if you do so, you must enable your browser to allow push notifications. To enable push notifications on your mobile device, consult its documentation.
Turn dynamic email notification on or off. If this is turned on for an event, such as when a draft invoice is generated (Draft invoice approval request), an email containing the notification card will be sent to the appropriate person, allowing that person to interact with the card the same way they would in VOGSY.
